A message from WABF Chairman Shahid Azeem
Welcome to the WABF (Woking Asian Business Forum). As you browse through our web site, you will see that we have clear aims and objectives, targeted at helping people within the Asian community to better integrate within mainstream business. Yet what makes us unique is that although our sites may be focused on the Asian community, our efforts include the whole community. We are acutely aware of the dangers inherent in anyone becoming isolated or marginalised and so we encourage all members to get involved and to help themselves, each other, in fact, the entire community. The aim for all of us is increased prosperity and wellbeing in Woking and surrounding areas.
WABF endeavors to be particularly supportive in helping and offering guidance for younger members of our community and females. Our support may also be relevant to groups or individuals of any age or gender who may otherwise suffer from a lack of support, require mentors or need practical advice. Sometimes, our best offering is just to be there for people who simply need encouragement in order to have the confidence to make the right decisions at the optimum time.
We have our own positive understanding of how to achieve this. Yet we are also aware that each situation will be highly individual so we are very open to working with others’ ideas and suggestions as to how we can best help each individual, business or organization. Our professional partners include public sector professionals like Woking Borough Council, Surrey and Woking Chambers, the University of Surrey and Surrey Police, Fire and Rescue. Our business sponsors are among the most generous and conscientious people we know. We also know that with your help we really can improve all our lives including those of others in our community and together we can create a far better future for generations yet to come. We look forward to welcoming you at many of our events.
